RESTRICTIONS ON USE OF MATERIALS
When and if you become a subscriber to Influence, you agree not to permit anyone else to access the Web site with your username or password. Any unauthorized use of the site could result in additional charges. Unless otherwise noted, all materials, including images, illustrations, designs, icons, photographs, video clips, and written and other materials that are part of this Web site are copyrights, trademarks, trade dress and/or other intellectual properties owned, controlled or licensed by Influence. No material from this Web site may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way, except that you may download one copy of the materials on any single computer for your personal, non-commercial use only, provided you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices.

USER PRIVACY
These guidelines have been developed with the recognition that Internet technologies are rapidly evolving, and that underlying business models are still not established. Accordingly, guidelines are subject to change. Any such changes will be posted on this page.
Registration: When you subscribe to Influence, you are required to supply your full name, mailing address, e-mail address, and some demographic information and to provide a payment or billing method. Subscribers must agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use. Similarly, when you register for a free trial period, Influence requires that you supply your full name, mailing address, and e-mail address. Customers who register for a free trial also must agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use.
Anonymous Information: Influence may also gather anonymous information, which may be used by Influence or shared with third parties. This is information which does not personally identify you, but which may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the services we offer. Generally this information is collected through "traffic data" and may entail the use of "cookies," "IP addresses," or other numeric codes used to identify a computer.
Cookies: Influence employs cookies to recognize you and your access privileges on our site, as well as to track site usage. Subscribers who do not accept cookies from the domain will not be able to access some areas of the web site.
IP Addresses: Influence also logs IP addresses for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. (Your IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet.)
Credit Card Information: If you use a credit card to pay for an Influence subscription, we will continue to charge your account for the length of the subscription term or until you cancel. If you give us credit card information for any other purpose or to pay for any other type of purchase, it will be used one time only to fulfill one order.
Statistical Analysis and Advertising: Influence may perform statistical analyses of user behavior in order to measure interest in the various areas of our site (for product development purposes) and to inform advertisers as to how many consumers have seen or "clicked" their advertising banners. Influence also uses demographic information to allow advertising banners on our Web site to be targeted, in aggregate, to the readers for whom they are most pertinent. This means that readers see advertising that is most likely to interest them, and advertisers send their messages to people who are most likely to be receptive, improving both the viewer's experience and the effectiveness of the ads. In this statistical analyses and banner advertisement targeting, we will disclose information to third parties only in aggregate form. E-Mail: Using the e-mail addresses provided at registration, Influence periodically sends promotional e-mail to its subscribers about services offered by Influence and its advertisers. Influence may contact you regarding account status, changes to the subscriber agreement, and to confirm registration. Occasionally, Influence shares data collected about subscribers with other units within the ALM group of companies or third parties whose products or services we feel may be of interest to you. Many of our subscribers find these mail or e-mail promotions valuable, whether they are shopping for merchandise, taking advantage of a special offer or purchasing unique services. If you prefer not to receive promotional materials from companies outside of the Influence group, please see the "Opting Out" provision below.
Data Security: To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online, including SSL security for credit card submissions.
Minors: Children are not eligible to use Influence's services, and we ask that minors not submit any personal information to us. If you are a minor, you may use this service only in conjunction with a parent or guardian.
Opting-Out, Corrections and Cancellations: Upon request, Influence will (a) remove you and your personal information from our user database, thereby canceling your registration; (b) correct personal information that you state is erroneous; or (c) permit you to "opt out" of further e-mail contact (excepting notification of major changes to the service) while still allowing access to the site.
JURISDICTIONAL ISSUES
Unless otherwise specified, the materials on Influence are presented solely for the purpose of promoting the publication, which is available in the United States, its territories, possessions, and protectorates. Influence is controlled and operated by Influence from its offices within the District of Columbia, United States of America. Influence makes no representation that materials in any Influence are appropriate or available for use in other locations. Those who choose to access Influence from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, if and to the extent local laws are applicable.
TERMINATION
These terms are effective until terminated by either party. You may terminate these terms at any time by destroying all materials obtained from Influence and all related documentation and all copies and installations thereof, whether made under these terms or otherwise. These terms will terminate immediately without notice from Influence if in Influence's sole discretion you fail to comply with any term or provision of these terms. Upon termination, you must destroy all materials obtained from Influence and all copies thereof, whether made under the terms of these terms or otherwise.

OTHER
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York. You agree that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to these terms shall be filed only in the state or federal courts located in New York County and you hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action. If any provision of these terms shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from these terms and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. You agree that regardless of any law or statute to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or relating to the Web site and these Terms of Service must be filed within one (1) year of the date the cause of action arose, or be barred as untimely. This is the entire agreement between us relating to the subject matter herein and shall not be modified except as provided herein or in writing, signed by ALM. To the extent that anything in or associated with the Web site is in conflict or inconsistent with this Agreement, this Agreement shall take precedence. ALM's failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not be deemed a waiver of such provision nor of the right to enforce such provision.
